Mr. Nonilon Ercia has been appointed in 2017 as Maintenance Superintendent for the Mauban power plant and, as such, has overall responsibility for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance of the power facility.
His primary functions include the oversight on strategic planning for plant systems which includes the identification of the most critical maintenance activities needed to be done to increase availability and reliability of the facility. He is also in charge of developing a System Expert Program, as well as forming and training of new maintenance teams.
Prior to his latest appointment, Mr. Ercia served as Maintenance Planning Supervisor – a position he held from 1998-2016. In that capacity, he provided key support for the maintenance, operating and engineering activities of the power facility, which included planning outages and projects in addition to planning ongoing corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.
Mr. Ercia has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Manuel L. Quezon University and a Masters degree in Engineering Management from the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. On September 2018, he passed the technical evaluation conducted by the Board of Mechanical Engineering of Professional Regulation Commission to become a Professional Mechanical Engineer.
He also currently serves as VP-External Affairs of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers-Quezon Province Chapter, and sits as a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Philippine Corrosion Society Inc.
